BRUNO'S STORY

The weather always seems to sit near the top of the list in most of our conversations. We wonder what it’s going to do, what we should wear, whether the forecast will be right, and if we should risk leaving the house without a coat. There is usually some mention of how warm or cold it is, or whether it’s going to rain.

So when I created this drawing, I wanted to show that my bear simply didn’t care what the weather had planned.

He has an attitude of quiet contentment. He is prepared to accept whatever comes and wait patiently. He has his umbrella, a place to sit, and isn’t in any rush. He’s perfectly happy to let the rain fall around him.

There is something calming about that kind of outlook. We spend so much time trying to predict and control things that are outside our control, when perhaps sometimes it’s enough just to be prepared, sit quietly, and appreciate the moment we are in.

After all, some days are made for sunshine, and some are made for simply sitting back and letting it rain.
