FRED'S STORY
It’s the small things that stack up: a worry here, a responsibility there, something you meant to deal with last week, or something new you never expected. Individually, they feel manageable, but together they begin to feel heavy.
Even though we try to keep moving forward, and we do our best to keep everything perfectly balanced, life has a way of reminding us that we can’t stand still forever.
The story behind my character Fred is really about that balancing act. He appears to have his Zen rock pile perfectly steady, and from the outside everything looks calm and carefully arranged. But one small movement could send the whole thing tumbling down.
I think many of us know that feeling. We carry our responsibilities and worries as carefully as we can, hoping that everything will stay balanced for just one more day.
But perhaps Fred teaches us something else. Balance doesn’t mean having everything under control all the time. Sometimes it simply means doing our best, accepting that life can wobble, and understanding that if things do fall apart, we can always start stacking the stones again.
